Job summary

Actalent is interviewing for a Lab Technologist on the night shift in Norcross, GA. This contract position requires overnight hours with training on day shift. The role involves performing laboratory testing, adhering to SOPs, and maintaining equipment and records.

The position pays $20.00-$21.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field.
• Experience in a lab preferred (academic or industry).
• Attention to detail and accuracy required.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing assigned to the department.
• Maintain knowledge of all current SOPs required to perform effectively.
• Maintain excellent communication with the Department and other Laboratory Services personnel.
• Competently perform Pre-Analytical tasks, CLIA waived tests, and moderate/high complexity testing using routine chemistries with automated/semi-automated methods.
• Recognize and report unusual test results in a timely manner to management.
• Operate equipment using established protocols within QC limits.
• Recognize equipment malfunctions and take appropriate steps to resolve.
• Maintain strict adherence to SOPs.
• Prepare and maintain reports/records and perform computer data entry.
• Maintain departmental supplies within established inventory levels.

Description

• Responsible to perform laboratory testing assigned to the department.
• Maintain knowledge of all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) required to perform effectively.
• Maintain excellent communication with the Department and other Laboratory Services personnel.
• Competently perform all assigned departmental duties. May perform Pre-Analytical tasks (receipt, qualification, and preparation of samples for testing), CLIA waived tests, and moderate and/or high complexity testing on patient, donors, or biologic products using routine chemistries utilizing automated / semi-automated methods with internal support systems.
• Recognize and report unusual test results in a timely manner to appropriate management.
• Operate equipment utilizing established protocols and within quality control limits.
• Recognize equipment malfunctions and/or technical problems and take appropriate steps to resolve.
• Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare and maintain reports/records and perform computer data entry.
• Maintain departmental supplies within established inventory levels.

Qualifications

Work Environment

This position is an overnight position from Sunday - Tuesday with a rotational Wednesday or Thursday - Saturday with a rotational Wednesday from 7pm -7:30am. Training will be 4-5 weeks on the day shift (timing might vary).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
