Job summary

LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our Portland, OR team. You will receive and sort clinical lab specimens, prepare them for testing, and help ensure accurate data entry and safe operation of equipment in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED; preferred candidates have healthcare exposure and some lab or production experience. We value attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to follow SOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred LabCorp experience.
• Healthcare industry exposure (6 months) such as physician's office, clinic or hospital.
• 6 months experience in assembly/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
