Job summary

Ravago is seeking a Quality Technician at the Baytown site to monitor and maintain the quality of all products produced, ensuring adherence to Quality, Laboratory, Environmental and Safety systems while supporting production.

The role requires 1-2 years in manufacturing (plastics preferred), strong communication skills, and forklift experience; the team operates in a demanding environment with safety at the forefront.

Job description

Purpose

Monitor and maintain quality of all products produced at RMA Baytown in accordance with Quality, Laboratory, Environmental and Safety systems while providing excellent support to production.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

• General Policy
• Mold & test plastic specimens.
• Provide production process support when required; Confidence to shut down an extruder when a quality concern makes it necessary.
• Support manufacturing by assisting with re-work, formulation, SPC reaction plan adjustments and SOC changes as necessary to produce product within specification.
• Prepare data for lot certifications and enter SPC data from off-line testing.
• Prepare customer samples as requested for external testing and customer shipment.
• Perform in-process color sample preparation, measurement, and pigment adjustments where necessary.
• Maintain/improve laboratory cleanliness & organization.
• Laboratory equipment PM’s and verifications.
• Support receiving staff with raw material inspection, testing and approval.
• Train, coach, assist and verify manufacturing personnel to be able to properly perform in-process product inspections.
• Follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental Procedures.
• Apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to the work areas and all tasks.
• Uphold the Ravago Code of Conduct standards.
• Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manger.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent - required.
• 1-2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment (plastic experience preferred).
• Experience:
