Job summary

NORIT Activated Carbon is seeking a Lab Technician at our Pryor, OK site to support manufacturing by providing timely test results, maintaining equipment, and documenting quality data. You will perform routine analytical tests on samples, prepare them for testing, and coordinate with production to troubleshoot quality issues.

The role requires 2+ years of lab experience and a degree in chemistry or chemical engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a laboratory technician.
• Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or equivalent preferred.
• Must follow instructions and perform technical tasks with lab equipment and computers.
• High attention to detail and ability to keep a clean, orderly work area.
• Ability to work in a team and across functions.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to handle laboratory chemicals safely.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with dust, noise and varying temperatures.
• Ability to work on a 12 hour rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Run entry level and routine analytical test procedures on samples.
• Prepare samples for testing and follow detailed instructions.
• Coordinate simultaneous activities while maintaining meaningful results.
• Assist production with troubleshooting quality-related issues.
• Support investigations of product nonconformances.
• Maintain accurate records of measurements and observations.
• Distribute results according to instructions or procedures.
• Participate in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.
