ADM in Decatur, IL, seeks an Entry Level Lab Technician to perform chemical and microbiological analysis in a high-volume process control laboratory. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HPLC systems and other analytical equipment to support production, product quality, and process improvements.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, documentation, and adherence to GMPs, safety, and food safety programs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related field preferred.
Continuing education, technical certification, or lab coursework preferred.
Experience with HPLC systems, laboratory instrumentation, and microbiological testing methods preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyzes process, production, environmental, and finished product samples to determine product quality and safety.
Performs analytical testing using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and other instrumentation.
Conducts routine microbiological testing and monitoring to support QA and food safety programs.
Documents analytical results and laboratory activities per GMPs and procedures.
Reviews data for completeness, accuracy, trends, and implications for quality and safety.
Communicates laboratory results and operational issues to stakeholders.
Performs routine calibration, verification, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on instruments.
Prepares samples, standards, reagents, and microbiological media per procedures.
Assists with housekeeping, inventory control, and compliance activities.
