Job summary

ADM is seeking a chemical and microbiological analyst for a high-volume process control laboratory in Decatur, IL. You will perform chemical and microbiological analyses, document results, and enter data to support production quality and process improvements.

Responsibilities include operating HPLC and other instruments, maintaining calibration, and ensuring alignment with GMPs and safety standards; a High School diploma is required with preferred chemistry or microbiology background.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related field preferred.
• Continuing education, technical certification, or laboratory coursework in a science-related field preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience in analytical chemistry, microbiology, manufacturing, or quality control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes process, production, environmental, and finished product samples to determine product quality and safety.
• Performs analytical testing using HPLC and other laboratory instrumentation per established methods.
• Conducts routine microbiological testing and monitoring to support quality programs.
• Documents analytical results, lab activities, and compliance with GMPs and safety.
• Reviews data for completeness, accuracy, and quality implications.
• Communicates laboratory results and any concerns to stakeholders.
• Performs routine calibration, verification, maintenance, troubleshooting on instruments.
• Prepares samples, standards, reagents, and media according to procedures.
• Assists with housekeeping, inventory, and compliance activities.

Education
