Job summary

Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, IA is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our full-time lab team. You will obtain specimens, perform complex tests, and enter results while maintaining equipment on a three 12-hour shift schedule (6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.).

Applicants must be a graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Program with an Associate of Applied Science; ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Program.
• Associate degree of Applied Science required.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specimens and maintain specimen equipment.
• Perform complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
• Analyze laboratory findings to check accuracy of the results.
• Enter data from analysis into computer for storage.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Complete clerical duties involving the laboratory.
• May travel to other departments and the community to collect specimens.
• Three 12-hour shifts, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
