Job summary

Charles River is seeking individuals to assist technicians with routine laboratory tasks in a GMP/biologics setting. The role includes preparing media and solutions, titrating stocks, staining slides, primers and probes, and purifying DNA, RNA, and proteins.

You will coordinate maintenance, log temperatures, restock supplies, and ensure safe, compliant lab operations. The position emphasizes careful observation, precise documentation, and organized work planning in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED or higher education.
• Experience: 0-1 years related experience in industry.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• Certification/Licensure: None.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians in performing routine laboratory tasks.
• Prepare media and laboratory solutions; prepare and titrate microbial and viral stocks; prepare primers and probes; isolate and purify DNA, RNA, and/or proteins.
• Coordinate instrument maintenance; calibrate laboratory equipment; record laboratory temperature readings.
• Order, log in and restock supplies; remove laboratory waste; coordinate shipments; interact with personnel from outside the department.
• Make detailed observations and maintain clear, accurate and timely documentation of all laboratory work.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Efficiently organize, prioritize and plan work schedule.
• Perform daily cleaning and monitoring of laboratories and clean rooms.
