Lab Technician - Intermediate (US)

12 Months of Contract (with possibility of extension)

Austin, TX - (Onsite Role)

Hiring manager notes:

• Physically able to lift 25lbs off the ground.
• No degree required - candidates with HS diploma/GED are fine.
• Preference for candidates without advanced degrees (master’s or PhD) as we are looking for a technician role. We aim to avoid high turnover.
• Prior military experience is a plus but not required.
• Candidates who are tech-savvy or industry enthusiasts are preferred. Experience with building systems, Power and Performance (PPV), or thermal testing is a plus.
• Let's aim to offer a competitive but not the highest pay scale.

The Role:

General lab support for client notebook and desktop products.

The Person:

Passionate about technology and computers, with strong communication skills, and able to work effectively in a team/lab environment. Hands-on skills in building and debugging client PC systems, executing manual and automated testing, with good lab organization skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain lab space, test racks, infrastructure, and test equipment.
2. Update and maintain Inventory SOR.
3. Soldering tasks.
4. Support engineers with automated and manual test execution across multiple platforms.
5. Support root cause failure analysis using software and hardware debugging tools.
6. Build, configure, support, and troubleshoot lab systems (hardware and software).
7. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge of Inventory SOR.
• Basic electronics knowledge.
• Experience with Microsoft products.
• PC building knowledge.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
