Job Title: Lab Technician III
Location: Research Triangle Park, NC, 27709
- 100% onsite
Duration: 12 months contract
Shift: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Prepare, characterize, and evaluate formulation prototypes for performance, stability, and quality.
- Conduct formulation preparation, testing, and evaluation according to established procedures.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Follow laboratory risk assessments, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safe work practices.
- Collect, analyze, document, and communicate experimental results and technical findings.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, test records, technical reports, and other laboratory documentation.
- Support stability studies and formulation performance evaluations, including emulsion stability, sedimentation, crystallization, foaming, and viscosity assessments.
- Perform additional technical and operational duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials, samples, and laboratory supplies up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and perform laboratory tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work in laboratory, pilot-plant, greenhouse environments as needed.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, and protective clothing where applicable.
Required Qualifications:
- A high School diploma is required with 6 years practical laboratory experience, an Associate's degree with 2 years practical laboratory experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in laboratory activity - performance experiments and familiarity with basic chemical mixing is required
- Strong laboratory skills
- Ability to accurately collect, analyze, document, and communicate scientific data and technical findings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic laboratory documentation systems.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Detailed oriented and with high sensitivity to timeline is a must –
- Proactive in task management and ability to address/take care of basic laboratory facilitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in formulation development, agricultural chemicals, crop protection products, or related industries.
- Experience evaluating formulation performance and physical stability
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and testing methodologies, including pH measurement, density determination, viscosity analysis, particle size measurement, and accelerated aging studies.
- Experience in vendor management - ordering materials, cataloging materials is a plus
- Working knowledge of chemical safety, risk assessment, and safe chemical handling practices.
