Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our Lake Wales, Florida lab team. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, and providing support for surgical and testing workflows.

The position requires strong English communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to work across shifts and patient populations. Compensation and benefits align with hospital standards and Florida labor practices.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy knowledge and practice in a lab setting.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to learn and use hospital information systems.

Responsibilities

• May perform point of care testing and related quality control.
• Handle clerical and receptionist duties to support department operations.
• Collect blood specimens and prepare samples for testing.
• Transport hazardous waste following training and safety guidelines.
• Assist in processing and handling specimens and data entry in LIS/HIS.
• Train new staff and serve as a preceptor when assigned.
