Job summary

Pace is seeking a Lab Technician 2 in Huntersville, NC. The role focuses on preserving, preparing, processing and maintaining lab samples, with emphasis on strict policy adherence and accurate documentation. Excellent communication with staff and customers is essential.

Responsibilities include daily lab setup, sample handling, analysis support, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while contributing to Pace’s mission to advance science and public health.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; three years of lab support experience preferred; associates degree considered.
• Experience with complex to specialized lab support programs, policies and procedures.
• Strong technical customer service skills and ability to document and report results accurately.
• Proficiency with computer applications and database management relevant to lab operations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a project team and communicate clearly with staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepares lab for daily operations including stocking materials, equipment, safety and cleanliness.
• Supports analytical testing and preserves samples; documents and communicates results.
• Picks up, transports and maintains samples, documents and materials.
• Disposes of laboratory materials following established guidelines.
• Performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance of lab equipment.
• Reviews and processes complex logs and databases; provides policy guidance to staff.
