Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a part-time laboratory prep technician to support analytical chemistry activities. Under supervision, you will prepare samples according to SOPs, run basic instrumentation, perform routine instrument maintenance, and maintain a Laboratory Notebook.

This entry-level position emphasizes safety and accuracy in a regulated lab environment. A high school diploma and 1–2 years in analytical labs are preferred; on-the-job training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and willingness to learn
• Experience in analytical chemistry labs preferred (1–2 years)
• Follows SGS SOPs and safety policies

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis according to SGS SOPs
• Operate and maintain basic laboratory instrumentation

• Assist with routine instrument calibration and cleaning

Job DescriptionAfter appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS' analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations. Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable. Must be compliant with SGS HSE policies and adhere to ISO 17025 or GLP Regulations. Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as required.

QualificationsHigh school diploma (Required)1-2 years of years' relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred)
