Job summary

SGS North America Inc. in Brookings, SD is seeking a part-time laboratory technician to prepare samples for analysis, perform routine instrument setup and calibration, and document results in the Lab Notebook.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years' experience in analytical chemistry labs; adherence to SGS HSE policies and ISO/GLP guidelines; strong attention to detail.

This position offers exposure to quality-controlled procedures in a global testing and certification environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1–2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories preferred.
• Familiarity with GLP/ISO 17025 compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis according to SGS SOPs using department instruments.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory functions.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook as required.

Job Description

• After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS' analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Must be compliant with SGS HSE policies and adhere to ISO 17025 or GLP Regulations.
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (Required)
• 1-2 years of years' relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred)
