Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a laboratory technician to independently prepare samples for analysis in accordance with SGS SOPs, using department-specific instrumentation and methodologies.

The role requires routine instrument operation, calibration, and meticulous documentation in the Laboratory Notebook. You will follow ISO 17025 or GLP regulations and SGS HSE policies while supporting laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis according to SGS SOPs and department methods.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory functions.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Comply with SGS HSE policies and ISO 17025 or GLP regulations.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Description

• After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS' analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Must be compliant with SGS HSE policies and adhere to ISO 17025 or GLP Regulations.
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.
