Job summary

The University of Arizona invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Research Technician I in the Song lab within the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in biomedical related disciplines preferred.
  • At least 1 year laboratory research or animal experience preferred.
  • Experience in Prism and MS Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic laboratory tasks including preparing samples and maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  • Assist higher level researchers with collecting samples.
  • Prepare reagents and solutions as needed for experiments.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ethical guidelines in handling and disposal of laboratory materials.
  • Support routine experiments under supervision, ensuring compliance with standardized procedures.
  • Maintain logs and records of experimental data; assist in field notes and records.
  • Coordinate scheduling of study subjects and collect basic information.
  • Provide routine administrative support (photocopies, labeling, filing, etc.).
  • Engage in continuous learning and application of basic lab techniques and safety protocols.

Education
