Job summary

Cordant is seeking a Lab Technician for Laboratory Operations in Flagstaff, AZ. The role requires high attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and the ability to follow complex written instructions. Typical duties include preparing samples, tracking Chain of Custody forms, and coordinating batch movement while upholding safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a lab or high-volume production setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine lab operations: open sample bags, create accessions and batches, order tests, apply barcodes.
• Scan Chain of Custody forms with proper orientation and clear documentation.
• Verify aliquot volumes; hand-pour aliquots using bulb pipettes if required.
• Identify samples needing extra attention and route appropriately.
• Enter client and donor data; note deficiencies after Team Lead sign-off.
• Move batches to other departments and manage storage with chain of custody.
• Follow lab policies and health and safety standards; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Details: Job Location: Flagstaff - Flagstaff, AZ 86004, Education Level: High School, Job Shift: Day, Lab Technician – Laboratory Operations- Flagstaff, AZ

Shift: Mon-Fri 8am-445pm

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour

Shift Differential: Additional $2.00/hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform routine operations including opening sample bags, creating accessions and batches, ordering proper test(s), and applying barcode labels
• Scan Chain of Custody (CoC) forms, ensuring proper orientation and clear, reproducible documents
• Verify proper aliquot volume; may be required to hand-pour aliquots using bulb pipettes
• Identify and separate samples requiring additional attention
• Enter client and donor information, noting any deficiencies after Team Lead sign-off
• Assist with transporting batches to other departments and placing or retrieving samples from freezer storage while maintaining proper chain of custody
• Follow all laboratory policies and procedures and adhere to health and safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working in a laboratory or high-volume production environment preferred
• Ability to interpret and follow complex written instructions required
• Strong attention to detail required
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a team environment required
• Data entry skills (alpha and numeric keyboarding) required
• Strong hand-eye coordination required
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, bend, and carry as needed
