Job summary

Natera is hiring a Laboratory Assistant I in Austin, TX. The role supports licensed staff by preparing specimens, delivering materials to workflows, and maintaining sample organization.

You will enter data in LIMS, prepare shipments, and help maintain inventory while adhering to HIPAA and PHI privacy rules. The position operates Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with training and ongoing development as part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Science-related degree preferred.
• Less than 1 year industry-related experience preferred.
• Employee must pass post offer criminal background check.
• Complete HIPAA/PHI/privacy training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed/certified staff in preparing specimens for testing.
• Receive and deliver specimens to workflows and labs.
• Maintain organization of samples in physical and electronic storage.
• Enter patient data into the Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS).
• Prepare samples for shipment.
• Maintain inventory and supplies in the lab.
• Assist in cleaning lab equipment and benches.
• Stay updated on methods pertaining to the role.
• Meet training deadlines and escalate issues to lead/supervisor.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects (TAG, 5S).
