Job summary

McKinney Specialty Labs is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform tasks that meet client expectations and generate defensible data promptly. The role supports GC, LC, GCMS, or LCMS groups and reports to the Group Leader.

The ideal candidate may hold an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Career Studies Certificate in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field. Prior lab experience is welcome but not required; strong safety and organizational skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with lab safety practices and standard lab procedures.
• Ability to organize work and maintain accurate records.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis.
• Determine the volume of samples.
• Clean laboratory glassware.
• Prepare reagents for lab use and/or shipment.
• Perform sample extractions.
• Maintain clean laboratory areas.
• Maintain organized records of sample preparation and analysis.
• Assist the Group Leaders and Analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation.
• Work comfortably with chemicals, glassware, and tobacco/nicotine products.
• Remain flexible and handle changing priorities.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
