Job summary

Natera, Inc. is seeking a Lab Assistant to support patient sample testing and equipment maintenance in a fast-paced laboratory. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with SOPs, and collaboration with a cross-functional team.

You will learn and apply methods under supervision, participate in training, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a professional work environment in California.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a biological science or related field.
• 0-2 years of industry-related experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a group.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing of patient samples according to standard operating procedure.
• Meet expected performance metrics within role as applicable.
• Maintain updated understanding and knowledge of methods performed in the lab.
• Provide guidance for new team members.
• Follow GLP: maintain clean and organized workspace.
• Complete training and deadlines on time.
• Recognize and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions per SOP.
• Document protocol deviations and escalate as needed.
• Communicate with team and other departments via email.
• Provide feedback on daily tasks to lead/supervisor.
• Assist teammates in completing daily tasks.
• Maintain equipment and instruments in good operating condition (calibration/expiry).
• Maintain inventory of material, supplies and equipment for duties.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects (TAG, 5S).
• Conduct oneself professionally.
• Adhere to departmental expectations.
