Job summary

SGS North America Inc. in Scarborough, ME is seeking an entry-level Lab Technician I to join our diagnostics lab. You will prepare samples with accuracy following SOPs and work to meet daily production targets while maintaining safety.

The role requires a high school diploma (Associate preferred), English proficiency, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Compensation is hourly and ranges from $20 to $22.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate degree in Chemistry or similar preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in analytical chemistry labs preferred.
• English language required.
• Basic mathematics, reasoning and computer skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis according to SGS' analytical SOPs.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• May assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Input and maintains technical information to support laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable; adhere to internal standards and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Description

Our Scarborough, ME laboratory is seeking an entry-level Lab Technician to join theirteam! The Lab Technician I will prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance to SGS' analytical SOPs. Work independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met. Always follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a safe working environment.

Job Functions

After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS' analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologiesPerforms routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipmentMay assist with validation and MDL studies.Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Compensation

Full-time Compensation: USD 20 - USD 22 - hourly

The expected hourly range for this position is $20 - $22 hourly. This range represents the minimum and maximum base hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
