Job summary

Kelly is hiring a Lab Technician for one of our clients in Atlanta, GA. The role involves supporting laboratory operations, maintaining storage areas, and handling equipment and supplies to ensure quality and compliance with SOPs.

The position is temp to hire with a schedule of Monday 12:00–8:30 PM and Tuesday–Friday 10:00 AM–6:30 PM; potential OT up to 5 hours weekly. Compensation is $19 per hour.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.
• Basic knowledge of the information and techniques for lab testing.
• Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Perform sample preparation including but not limited to: aliquot samples, spike and trace samples, prepare reagents, bottle samples, prepare concentrations, separation, sonication, liquid rack set up.
• Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
• Prepare general lab paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and lab logbooks.
• Wash lab glassware to prepare for next day's samples.

Summary

The main function of a lab technician is to support laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. The typical lab technician is expected to use general lab methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures.
