Job summary

Pace is seeking a Lab Technician I to join the sample preparation team in our environmental testing laboratory. You’ll receive comprehensive training and develop a career in science while supporting operations that advance health and safety for communities.

This entry-level, full-time role runs 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday (Sat/Sun off) in Altoona, PA. You will perform preservation, preparation, processing and maintenance of samples, document activities, and learn policies and best practices

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in lab or office and wear PPE.
• Experience in a laboratory or environmental testing setting is preferred.

• Support all laboratory sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, processing and maintenance
• Maintain and update appropriate documentation and databases
• Participate in training on fundamental lab support policies, programs and practices

What you’ll do

• Support all laboratory sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, processing and maintenance
• Maintain and update appropriate documentation and databases
• Participate in training on fundamental lab support policies, programs and practices

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to perform work in a lab or office setting, remain standing for long periods while conducting tests, work around strong smells, and wear personal protective equipment while handling samples (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses and gloves; all PPE provided by Pace).
• Experience in a laboratory or environmental testing setting is preferred, but not required
