Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or expected.
• Bachelor's degree preferred for growth potential.
• 2+ years' related experience or equivalent education implied by role.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and communicate professionally with team.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment and data entry on lab computers.
• Participate in daily production of sexed semen with emphasis on sterility and semen quality.
• Perform sorter startup, calibration, sort setup and shutdown; include cleaning, sterilization and bacterial testing.
• Use sterile techniques at all times to prevent contamination.
• Utilize software applications (spreadsheets, databases, email, statistics, graphics) to assemble and format data/reports.
• Follow universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials.
• Handle hazardous chemical and biological agents and/or radiation sources safely.
• Monitor inventory and storage of lab materials per policies.
• Keep knowledge current on vendors and materials relevant to laboratory needs.
