Job summary

STgenetics is seeking a Lab Technician to join a growing laboratory team focused on quality and career development. The role provides hands‑on, structured training and a clear pathway to increased technical responsibility within the lab.

You will learn foundational skills such as flow cytometry and sperm physiology while training under the Lab Manager and senior technicians. Over time, you may independently operate sorting units and support process improvements, contributing to long‑term success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s preferred.
• 2+ years’ related experience or equivalent education.
• Strong attention to detail in lab tasks.
• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts and communicate with all team members in a professional manner.
• Operate and maintain sorters and lab computers for data entry.
• Participate in daily production of sexed semen with emphasis on sterility and semen quality.
• Perform daily job duties to include sorter startup, calibration, sort setup and shutdown.
• Use sterile techniques at all times to avoid contaminating any laboratory areas, samples or instrumentation.
• Use software applications to assemble, manipulate and format data and test reports.
• Follow universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials.
• Handle hazardous chemical and biological agents and/or radiation sources safely.
• Monitor inventory levels and proper storage of materials and supplies per policy.
• Keep knowledge of vendors and suppliers of laboratory materials up to date.
