Lab Technician - Entry Level/I - Decatur, IL

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Job Summary

Perform laboratory analysis on in-process and finished product samples to determine conformance to quality and purity specifications, gather sample retains, and communicate with departments via email and Microsoft Teams.

Essential Job Functions

1. Follow all safety and environmental rules applicable to the position.
2. Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.
3. Monitor and ensure compliance with safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies.
4. Perform lab tests following documented procedures.
5. Exemplify ADM core values: Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Resourcefulness, Teamwork, Responsibility.
6. Maintain prompt attendance and willingness to work assigned schedules.
7. Use a team-oriented approach; communicate effectively; identify out-of-spec items; correlate data; work independently for sampling and testing.
8. Conduct physical testing of samples.
9. Verify lab instruments daily.
10. Record, interpret, and enter test results into computerized systems.
11. Maintain tested product samples for result confirmation when needed.
12. Ensure availability of testing supplies and notify supervisors when reordering is necessary.
13. Compare test results with standards regularly to ensure product specifications are met.
14. Handle chemicals safely as outlined in Safety Data Sheets.
15. Communicate product issues with Operations, Merchandisers, and Quality teams.
