Job Description

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Job Summary

Perform laboratory analysis on in-process and finished product samples to determine conformance to quality and purity specifications, gather sample retains, and communicate with different departments via email and Microsoft Teams.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to the position.
  2. Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.
  3. Monitor and ensure compliance with safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies.
  4. Perform lab tests according to documented procedures.
  5. Demonstrate ADM core values: Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Resourcefulness, Teamwork, and Responsibility.
  6. Maintain punctual attendance and be willing to work the assigned schedule.
  7. Work collaboratively with team members, communicate effectively, identify out-of-spec items, correlate data across processes, and work independently on sampling and testing tasks.
  8. Conduct physical testing of production samples.
  9. Verify lab instruments daily for accuracy.
  10. Record, interpret, and enter test results into a computerized data system.
  11. Maintain tested product samples for result confirmation when necessary.
  12. Ensure supplies for testing are adequate and notify supervisors when reordering is needed.
  13. Compare test results with standards to ensure product specifications are met.
  14. Handle chemicals safely as outlined in the Safety Data Sheet.
  15. Communicate product issues with Operations, Merchandisers, and Quality teams.

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; basic arithmetic skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Teamwork orientation and willingness to learn.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s in applied science preferred.
  • Preferred experience in analytical laboratories.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office and laboratory software.
  • Commitment to safety and injury prevention.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
