Coherent Corp. is seeking a hands-on Lab Technician to support Liquid Phase Epitaxy operations in Hillsborough Township, NJ. This role requires a minimum of a high-school diploma and 2+ years of experience in a technical or scientific field, preferably in a laboratory setting.

We are seeking a hands‑on Lab Technician to support our Liquid Phase Epitaxy (LPE) film growth operations in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in laboratory operations, manufacturing, materials processing, engineering support, or technical production environments who enjoy working with precision equipment, data collection, and process‑driven manufacturing.
Shift: C (Day shift, 12 hours): Wed – Sat, alternating Wednesdays off. Approximate times 5:30 am–6:00 pm. Training occurs at our Hillsborough, NJ facility for 6 to 9 months, requiring 1 to 6 weeks of Mon‑Friday work. Upon training completion, the position transfers full‑time to our Easton, PA facility. Mileage reimbursement is available during training.
Education: Minimum high‑school diploma or equivalent. Preferred associate degree in a technical, engineering, or scientific field.
Experience: Minimum 2+ years in a technical, scientific, or mechanical field. Experience working in a laboratory environment and following good lab practices. Experience with precision measurement methods and systems. Experience with PCs for programming LPE systems. Intermediate or higher level with Excel, Word, and Access. Oracle experience is a plus. Experience with fixtures, hand tools, and equipment controllers is a plus. Comfortable working with chemicals, acids, and a high‑temperature environment. Demonstrate the ability to read and follow directions while offering suggestions for continuous improvement.
All employees must follow site EHS procedures and corporate EHS standards. Depending on location, the position may have responsibility for the execution and maintenance of ISO 9000, 9001, 14001, or other applicable standards within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
