Job summary

Johnson Electric in Plymouth, MI is seeking a motivated Lab Technician Apprentice to join our Electrical Lab team on-site. This hands-on role offers mentorship from experienced technicians and exposure to product test systems and validation testing on prototype and production components.

You will assist in building test harnesses, collecting data, and developing test plans, with opportunities to grow technical skills while contributing to real engineering projects in a global motion technologies

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in required instructional courses at Schoolcraft College or Henry Ford College.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for ~70% of the workday.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and eagerness to learn in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Electrical Lab by developing test setups and assisting with validation testing.
• Build test hardware, mount components, and wire circuits for experiments.
• Assist in programming test controls and data acquisition systems.
• Collect and summarize test data and compile technical reports.
• Follow lab safety rules and contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team.
