The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting routine laboratory tests in accordance with established procedures. These tests may include environmental monitoring, water system analysis, and/or final product testing to support both laboratory functions and the manufacturing site.
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Shift: M-F, 8AM to 5PM
Pay: $24-25/HR, based on experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Biology or Chemistry preferred)
- 1 or more years of relevant laboratory experience
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments and/or executing test procedures as described in the job responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct environmental monitoring of Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) machines and ISO-classified cleanrooms, including non-viable/viable air and surface sampling.
- Collect and test in-process water samples for parameters such as Conductivity, Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Rapid LAL, and Microbiological Filtration.
- For Finished Product testing, perform routine evaluations such as USP <71> Sterility, USP <85> Endotoxin (gel clot and/or kinetic turbidimetric methods), and Ion Chromatography (IC) assays.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including but not limited to autoclaves, balances, laminar flow hoods, fume hoods, pH meters, TOC analyzers, and conductivity meters.
- Utilize specialized equipment for finished product testing such as Ion Chromatography and Steritest systems.
- Adhere strictly to Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in all testing, data recording, and safety protocols.
- Review test results and calculations for accuracy and completeness, ensuring timely documentation.
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly lab environment.
- Communicate clearly with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Perform additional laboratory support tasks as needed, such as preparing disinfectants and media, washing glassware, restocking supplies, cleaning incubators, and collaborating across all three working shifts.
