Job Summary

IA Construction has an opening for a Quality Control Laboratory Technician at our Warren Asphalt Plant.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for efficient bituminous asphalt testing, asphalt content and gradation, maximum theoretical density of mix and specific gravity of compacted mix.
• Be engaged and aware in safety and actively participate in Daily Safety Huddles.
• Aggregate material testing, sampling, absorption, LA Abrasion, specifications, un-compacted voids, Sodium / Magnesium Loss, crush counts.
• Inventory products, QC sampling, schedules, specifications, testing, gradations, and crush gravity of compacted mix efficiently.
• Bituminous mix design development, complete overview of Pennsylvania design processes for HMC and WMA as per job specifications.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

Skills

• Computer, fax, printer, and copier experience.
• Ability to build professional relationships with coworkers, management, and customers.
• Safety Conscience and safety oriented.
• Some mechanical and maintenance skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to understand several types of software programs.
• Comprehend ASTM and AASHTO standards and procedures.

Physical Requirements

• May require walking, standing or sitting for periods of time.
• Able to perform tasks in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work various shifts.
• Lifting and carrying of various items is required.
