Elementis PLC. is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform specified tests on raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products. You will prepare solutions, analyze samples, and help management adjust in-process parameters to maintain product quality and equipment calibration.

You will follow prescribed methods, record results, and ensure safe handling of chemicals while assisting in ISO 9001 issues and training new lab technicians as needed.

Perform specified Quality Control tests to ensure quality and specifications of raw material, goods in process, and finished products. Utilize analyst to aid management in decisions requiring modifications to in-process parameters to maintain product quality as well as equipment calibration and maintenance.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Prepare necessary solutions and materials required in the performance of specified tests.

Follow and perform all necessary steps in preparing samples for analysis.

Follow prescribed methods, perform laboratory testing and analysis for all plant departments as required.

Use SPC techniques to analyze product performance.

Computer data entry of test results or lab book entry as required.

Dispose of all old samples or testing material following the prescribed method.

Prepare and standardize solutions used in laboratory work.

Where required, prepare samples for shipping.

Keep work areas clean and orderly while observing laboratory safety rules on handling of equipment and chemicals.

Where required, use computer and/or calculator to perform job functions.

Perform new tests as introduced.

As required, label containers of finished goods as reject.

Assist in ISO 9001 issues.

Assist in training new Lab Technicians.

Perform any other related duties as required.

Decision making

Duties require use of judgment in the analysis of fact and circumstances surrounding individual tests in the determination of actions to be taken within limits of standard practice.
