Job summary

Atrium Staffing seeks a Lab Technician for a manufacturing client in Utah. The role supports production and quality teams, performing testing, data entry, and equipment maintenance in a hands-on environment.

You'll work with scientists, engineers, and R&D to ensure product quality and process improvements, while adhering to safety and SOPs. A Bachelor's in Chemistry or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience collecting, preparing, and testing samples in a manufacturing/lab environment.
• Experience with quality control testing on materials or finished products.
• Experience setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and data documentation.

Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare, and analyze samples to support manufacturing operations and quality initiatives.
• Perform quality control testing including particle size, density, moisture, viscosity, and other material characterization tests.
• Record, review, and enter testing data into lab databases and quality systems.
• Maintain accurate lab documentation and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems and safety policies.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, Engineering, and R&D teams to support improvements.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$25/hr

Position Overview:

The Lab Technician will support manufacturing operations and laboratory activities. This role will work independently and collaboratively with scientists, engineers, Quality, and Production teams to perform testing, support product quality initiatives, and maintain laboratory systems and equipment.

This position supports industrial manufacturing and product quality activities. Candidates from chemical, specialty materials, food ingredients, consumer products, coatings, adhesives, polymers, or other manufacturing laboratory environments are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities of the Lab Technician:

• Collect, prepare, and analyze raw material, in-process, and finished product samples to support manufacturing operations, product quality, and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform quality control testing, including physical property evaluations such as particle size, density, moisture content, viscosity, and other material characterization tests.
• Conduct routine analytical testing and document results in accordance with established procedures.
• Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Record, review, and enter testing data into laboratory databases and quality systems.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, testing records, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing quality systems, laboratory procedures, and company standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Adhere to environmental, health, and safety policies and proactively identify opportunities to improve workplace safety.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, Engineering, and R&D teams to support manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience/Skills for the Lab Technician:

• Hands‑on experience collecting, preparing, and testing samples in a manufacturing, chemical, materials, food, consumer products, or industrial laboratory environment.
• Experience performing quality control or laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, or finished products.
• Experience setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when documenting procedures, test methods, and results.
• Experience entering, reviewing, and managing laboratory or quality-related data.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established operating procedures.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Lab Technician:

• Prior experience within chemical manufacturing, specialty materials, food ingredients, consumer products, coatings, adhesives, polymers, or related industrial manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or other quality data management systems.
• Experience supporting quality control, quality assurance, manufacturing operations, or process improvement initiatives.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
