Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a Geotechnical and Concrete/Masonry Laboratory.
  • Must have ACI certifications for concrete and aggregate testing.

Description

ENGEO is a vibrant and growing company, offering an incredible opportunity to become a part of our dynamic team in the Guam materials testing laboratory. We are on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Lab Technician with 3 or more years of related work experience.

Position Overview:

  • Perform soil and concrete laboratory tests, such as compaction curves, moisture/density, Plasticity Index, gradation, CBR, Marshall, unconfined compression, and concrete/masonry compression testing.
  • Effectively communicate test results to office staff, field personnel, and clients.
  • Assist professional staff in supplying and maintaining field equipment.
  • Assist professional staff in materials storage and disposal.
  • Prepare lab documents.
  • Pick up soil and concrete samples from various project sites.

Requirements

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Certification/Experience:

  • Some college or bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject matter (Soil, Earth Sciences, Geology, or Civil Engineering)
  • 3+ years of experience working in a Geotechnical and Concrete/Masonry Laboratory
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Level 1
  • ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician
  • ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician
  • ACI Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1

Candidate Criteria:

  • Must have a good driving record and be drug free
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform intermittent strenuous activity
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook computer applications.
  • Willing to acquire and maintain laboratory certifications and be able to follow proper procedures
  • Able to perform accurate computations
  • Have clear and concise verbal/written communication and computer skills

  • Proven track record of dependability, keen attention to detail, and well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Must communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, city agents, and project managers - locally and in other regional offices- and internal support staff.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment.
  • Can work and succeed as a team also while being resourceful if working alone in the lab.
  • Enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with others for the success of the company.
  • Must have a good understanding of the construction industry.
