Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. in Newman, CA, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support microbiology testing and quality control in our dairy production facility.

You will take sterile samples, plate for microbiology, read plating results, and operate lab equipment such as the FT 120 Foss, CEM oven, and salt analyzer, all while maintaining clean, safe work practices. Responsibilities

Qualifications and/or duties:

• Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to work aseptically with microbiological samples.
• Must be able to take sterile cheese samples and plate for microbiology.
• Take sterile samples of anything required and plate for microbiology, aseptically swab areas in plant and plate for microbiology.
• Must be able to read and interpret microbiological plating samples.
• Must be able to work accurately in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors.
• Must be able to accurately perform simple mathematical formulas.
• Must be able to learn to use all equipment in the Lab proficiently.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Must be able to work safely with chemicals.
• Must be able to operate the FT 120 Foss.
• Must be able to operate the CEM oven.
• Must be able to operate the salt analyzer.
• Must be able to learn new procedures as they arise.
• Responsible for food safety and quality.
• Perform SAP functions in the system.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Hourly Rate: 26.55
