Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a lab associate in California to support quality and microbiology operations. You will handle sterile sampling, plating, and aseptic tasks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role requires the ability to lift heavy items, operate lab equipment, and read English, with potential overtime. We value teamwork, reliability, and a commitment to food safety and quality across our global dairy portfolio.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to work aseptically with microbiological samples.
• Must be able to take sterile samples and plate for microbiology.
• Must be able to read and interpret microbiological plating samples.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Must be able to work safely with chemicals.
• Must be able to operate the FT 120 Foss.
• Must be able to operate the CEM oven.
• Must be able to operate the salt analyzer.
• Must be able to learn new procedures as they arise.
• Responsible for food safety and quality.
• Perform SAP functions in the system.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications and/or duties:

• Take sterile samples of anything required and plate for microbiology, aseptically swab areas in plant and plate for microbiology.
• Must be able to read and interpret microbiological plating samples.
• Must be able to work accurately in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors.
• Must be able to accurately perform simple mathematical formulas.
• Must be able to learn to use all equipment in the Lab proficiently.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Must be able to work safely with chemicals.
• Must be able to operate the FT 120 Foss.
• Must be able to operate the CEM oven.
• Must be able to operate the salt analyzer.
• Must be able to learn new procedures as they arise.
• Responsible for food safety and quality.
• Perform SAP functions in the system.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Hourly Rate: 26.55
