Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a lab technician to perform in-process and finished product testing, document results, and ensure compliance with specifications.

The role involves sample preparation, data entry, and notifying management of out-of-spec results; you will contribute to food safety and quality across multiple products and brands.

Qualifications

• Gathers samples for analytical testing and performs laboratory tests on products, raw materials, ingredients and lab samples to determine if they meet requirements.
• Prepares samples of products for reference and documents results.
• Examines results of audit tests to identify problems with sanitation and manufacturing processes.
• Enters laboratory data into computer systems.
• Alerts management when products are out of specification.
• Reports food safety or quality problems to management and assists in appropriate personnel.
• Trains other employees on the proper use of equipment and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.

BASIC FUNCTION

Perform lab testing on in-process and finished products; record and report results in order to ensure highest standards of quality are met or exceeded and in compliance with federal, state, and company specifications.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gathers samples for analytical testing and performs various laboratory tests on products, raw materials, ingredients and lab samples to determine if they meet necessary requirements.
• Prepares samples of products for future reference and documents results.
• Examines results of audit tests to identify problems with such things as sanitation and manufacturing processes.
• Enters laboratory data into computer system.
• Alert management when products are out of specification.
• Responsible for reporting food safety or quality problems to management and assists in appropriate personnel.

Work Schedule: 6pm -6am rotating 12-hour shifts

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday

Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday
