  • Food manufacturing/ warehousing dairy experience preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication in English.
  • Good attendance is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, efficient production support including hand-stacking and packing.
  • Follow SOPs in detail without deviation.
  • Set-up packaging coders and validate product codes.
  • Identify out-of-spec conditions and follow notification protocol.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments and use hand tools.
  • Operate lift truck safely and move materials as needed.
  • Complete production records accurately and neatly.
  • Assist with equipment change-overs, CIP/SIP, cleaning and setup.
  • Support environmental controls and product reclaim/rework.
  • Assist with audits and follow health, safety, and GMP procedures.
  • Cross-train with other departments and maintain housekeeping.

This is an entry-level plant production position. If hired, the employee will receive training in multiple positions in an effort to support plant operations.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and efficient production support, which may include: hand-stacking, case packing, housekeeping, product conveying and reclaim.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.
  • Set-up packaging coders, validate product codes in accordance with code specifications.
  • Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions. Follow the established notification protocol.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments. Use of various hand tools.
  • Safe operation of a lift truck, moving materials throughout shift as needed/required.
  • Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
  • Assist with equipment change-overs, CIP/SIP, clean-up and equipment set-up.
  • Perform department environmental controls.
  • Perform product reclaim and rework operations.
  • Perform product packaging and stacking operations.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Follow all established GMP’s and Food Safety requirements.
  • Cross-train with other departments.
  • Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, actively apply the Saputo Company Values and Workplace Climate Policy.
  • Work together in a team environment with co-workers and other department personnel.
  • Other duties as required by management.
Job requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent or (1)-year demonstrated work experience.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, warehousing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Good math skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, software and data entry, SAP a plus.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, in English.
  • Good attendance is a must
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Fine manipulation and dexterity, gripping and squeezing.
  • Visual acuity with the ability to see color.
  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.
  • Physical lifting up to 50-lbs frequently throughout the shift and ability to lift 50+ lbs with assistance.
  • Shift flexibility. This is a hands‑on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a 24/7 operation to support manufacturing. This can either be rotating, days, swing or night shifts and weekends. Work days and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.
