Actalent is seeking a Lab Technician in New Orleans to support the chemist team by performing titrations, extractions, and data analysis. The role focuses on QC, backlog checks, and timely test execution in a dynamic oils department.

Training provided for 3 months and 4-6 weeks depending on methods; standard hours are 8 AM–5 PM, with shift changes post-training. Contract-to-hire, onsite in NEW ORLEANS, LA. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

The Lab Technician will play a pivotal role in supporting the chemist team through various tasks, including conducting titrations, performing liquid extractions, measuring weight differences, and analyzing and reporting data. The role involves checking backlog and running tests, typically averaging 2-3 methods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Accreditation as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent is acceptable.

Work Environment

The Lab Technician will work in the oils department, joining a dynamic team dedicated to developing new lab technologies. The position offers opportunities to gain a deep understanding of new instrumentation and methods. Training is provided for 3 months independently and 4-6 weeks depending on methods. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, transitioning to an 8-hour shift post-training, typically starting between 6-3 PM. The team consists of one lead and eight lab scientists.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NEW ORLEANS, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
