QPS Employment Group is recruiting a Lab Technician in Iowa for a 2nd shift (2:45pm-11:15pm, Mon-Fri). Wage is based on experience, with opportunities to contribute to quality and safety in a production environment.

You will perform laboratory testing, quality control, and environmental sanitation checks, while maintaining accurate records and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates should have a High School Diploma and 1-3 years of manufacturing experience.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform laboratory testing and quality control to ensure products meet quality, safety, and food-grade standards.
  • Collect and prepare product samples for testing, quality control, release testing, and retention.
  • Perform microbiological, moisture, pH, titration, color, melt point, iodine, acid value, and other required testing.
  • Conduct environmental testing and collect swabs to verify sanitation and cleanliness.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and routine plant inspections for cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Monitor sanitation activities and review cleaning logs to ensure procedures are completed correctly.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, samples, records, and documentation.
  • Perform routine calibration and limited troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
  • Analyze test results, document findings, and prepare reports, summaries, and other required documentation.
  • Prepare samples and shipping labels for customers and outside laboratories.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, including washing and drying glassware.
  • Assist with training entry-level employees on quality control procedures and protocols.
  • Communicate with production personnel and management regarding quality, safety, sanitation, and testing results.
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to quality, products, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Lab Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform laboratory testing and quality control procedures to ensure products meet quality, safety, and food-grade standards.

Lab Technician Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull, and handle materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in both a laboratory/office setting and on the manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. in the laboratory setting.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and move heavier materials with mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and safely maneuver throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to operate and work around laboratory equipment and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work in environments that may be loud, warm, humid, dusty, or have odors and debris.
  • Ability to properly wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hair nets, hearing protection, dust masks, smocks, and other protective equipment.
  • Ability to safely work around products that may contain allergens.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous quality control and/or laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed procedures and instructions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to analyze information and use effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with production personnel and management.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and complete detailed written documentation.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
