Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform sampling and analysis of film products per approved methods.
  • Conduct laboratory analyses on time and to schedule.

  • Maintain safety, quality, and environmental policies.
  • Verify lab equipment in ISO compliance.
  • Log data accurately in the lab data system.
  • Communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Train new hires on best practices and quality compliance.
  • Assist in training on document control system.
  • Design experiments to determine root causes of failures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Goal:

Under the supervision of the Quality Specialist, the Lab Technician provide technical input in the area of laboratory practices, and performs special tests ensuring quality standards are met. Provides support to the organization in auditing, testing, data gathering, statistical analysis, and complaints.

Main Duties:

  • Works as directed by the Quality Specialist for sampling and analysis of film products
  • Carries out laboratory analyses efficiently, effectively, and accurately as per applied approved test methods, completing all assigned analyses on time and to schedule
  • Liaises with the production personnel to ensure effective application and interpretation of laboratory data
  • Works safely and effectively ensuring compliance with all safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and practices
  • Assures the verification of the lab equipment in compliance with ISO standards
  • Logs analysis and other relevant data on the laboratory’s data system, accurately and on-time, to be used by process staff and other personnel
  • Updates the Quality Specialist of variation from specification or normal operational parameters which might affect technical performance and quality
  • Acts as a resource to assist in the training of new hires and current employees in best practices and quality compliance
  • Completes and carries out an effective communication and handover exchange with different departments in the work area
  • Provides training on the document control system and extended areas
  • Interpret complex data and correlate results between experimental findings
  • Provide support to new product and process introductions or technology developments
  • Design and conduct experiments that determine root causes of failures

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience in plastics industry including knowledge of formulation practices and plastic film test equipment preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and/or within a team.
  • Ability to conduct and record accurate measurements, document qualitative and quantitative data and lift a maximum of 40lbs.
  • Ability to read product specifications and drawings.
