Randstad is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician to join our manufacturing team in Chattanooga. You will support our plastic production by performing lab testing, ensuring thickness, clarity, and resistance meet specs, and helping drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Must have Lab Tech or Quality Experience inside a lab.
  • Must Have Forklift Certification (OSHA) preferred
  • Perform limited quality testing on manufactured plastic sheets (training provided)
  • Verify product specifications during line startups and material changeovers
  • Conduct regular inspections across production and finishing
  • Use lab equipment such as micrometers, gauges, tensile testers, moisture analyzers (training provided)
  • Maintain safety and regulatory compliance, including food-safety guidance
  • Nice to Have Excel experience

Salary: $50,000 - $57,000 per year

Work hours: 8 AM - 8 PM

Responsibilities
  • Must Have Lab Tech or Quality Experience working inside a lab to maintain standards and operate lab testing equipment
  • Must Have Forklift Certification - OSHA specific preferred
  • Perform limited quality testing (willing to train) on manufactured plastic sheets, including thickness, friction, impact resistance, and clarity evaluations.
  • Verify product specifications during line startups and material changeovers to ensure compliance before distribution.
  • Conduct regular inspections across both production and finishing operations.
  • Use lab equipment (willing to train) such as micrometers, gauges, tensile testers, and moisture analyzers.
  • Maintain safety standards by adhering to strict food-safety and regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Assist production line with quality outlines.
  • Nice to Have Microsoft Excel Experience

The essential functions of this role include:
  • Working in a smoke free environment
  • Wearing steel toe shoes
  • Working in a non-temperature controlled environment
  • Manual lifting up to 50lbs
  • Standing for 2 hours at one time
