Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an advanced Quality Control Lab Technician to lead hands-on quality control in a dynamic plastic manufacturing setting. You will troubleshoot process deviations, mentor staff, and drive compliance initiatives impacting operations and customers.

Responsibilities include running material tests, benchmarking, coordinating trials, and performing root-cause investigations while supporting regulatory compliance and training programs for the team.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience OR a Degree/Certificate in Science.
  • Forklift Certification - preferred if through OSHA-accredited trainer.
  • Product Lab Testing and material performance assessments.
  • Competitor benchmarking and development opportunities.
  • Root cause analysis and preventative action implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Run comprehensive plastic material and performance assessments (thickness, strength, impact, clarity).
  • Coordinate testing protocols for new material formulations and client trials.
  • Analyze market products for performance benchmarks and opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing defects and process deviations with production teams.
  • Lead and mentor floor operators and junior lab technicians on testing procedures.
  • Support regulatory compliance and maintain SQS Certification and food safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Must Have: Forklift Certification -Preffered if through an OSHA‑accredited trainer.
  • Must Have: 4 years of experience OR a Degree/Certificate in Science
  • Product Lab Testing (training provided): Run comprehensive plastic material and performance assessments, checking variables like thickness, strength, impact resistance, and visual clarity.
  • Competitor Benchmarking: Analyze alternative marketplace products to evaluate performance metrics and pinpoint development opportunities.
  • Trials & Deviations: Coordinate testing and verification protocols for new material formulations, client trials, and product development phases.
  • Operational Troubleshooting: Partner with production teams to diagnose and resolve manufacturing defects or process anomalies.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Drive investigations and implement preventative measures to stop recurring issues.
  • Client Care Support: Assist with investigation protocols for client feedback and compile data for customer‑facing documentation.
  • Team Training: Train and mentor floor operators and junior lab technicians on proper testing protocols, documentation standards, and quality goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Help maintain the facility's SQS Certification, adherence to food safety standards, specialized handling procedures, and industry certifications.
  • Nice to Have: Experience working inside a plastic manufacturing environment
  • Nice to Have:Six Sigma, 5S, orLean Manufacturing knowledge
