Job summary

Intercos America in Congers, NY seeks a Lab Technician to support R&I, product development and quality teams. You will assist chemists in formulating makeup and skincare products, prepare samples, and maintain compliant laboratory records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of laboratory experience in cosmetics, skincare, personal care, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GMP and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent recordkeeping and documentation practices.
  • Ability to follow formulations and technical instructions precisely.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist formulation chemists in preparing laboratory batches of makeup and skincare products.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and blend raw materials according to formulations and procedures.
  • Prepare samples for internal evaluations, stability studies, and customer presentations.
  • Conduct stability testing and maintain detailed records of observations and results.
  • Organize, label, and maintain laboratory samples, retain samples, and raw material inventories.
  • Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Assist with documenting formulations, notebooks, technical reports, and batch records.
  • Coordinate ordering and inventory management of laboratory supplies and raw materials.
  • Support pilot batches and manufacturing scale-up activities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in line with GMP, OSHA, and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Regulatory, Quality, Packaging Development, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Assist with troubleshooting formulation issues and improvements under senior chemists' guidance.
  • Perform other laboratory duties and special projects as assigned.

Position Summary

The Lab Technician is responsible for supporting the Research & Innovation (R&I), Product Development, and Quality teams in the formulation, preparation, testing, and documentation of make up and skincare products in Congers, NY. This role assists chemists with creating innovative formulations while ensuring laboratory operations remain organized, compliant, and efficient. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and passionate about cosmetic science and skincare innovation.

Essential Functions
  • Assist formulation chemists in preparing laboratory batches of make up and skincare products

Job Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of laboratory experience, preferably within the cosmetics, skincare, personal care, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods industry.
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.
  • Experience handling laboratory equipment and preparing formulations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and laboratory safety procedures.
