Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science; and/or Board-registered or eligible for registry by one of the national registries associated with laboratory practice (ASCP, HEW, etc.).
• Addendum: Must have degree in Medical Technology and/or life sciences to be eligible to work the bench in Microbiology.
• Technologists not meeting these requirements will be considered if they have an associate degree in a laboratory science and are experienced in Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Collects samples, analyzes specimens, performs quality control, analyzes instrument data, performs necessary troubleshooting, reports results, and assists clerical functions.
• This position requires interdepartmental support activities to more effectively provide patient care.
• Must be contactable by phone for backup coverage.
• This position reports to shift or department supervisor and performs other duties as assigned.
