Job summary

Richmond University Medical Center is seeking a Night Shift Laboratory Technician for the New York facility. Responsibilities include following procedures for pre-analytic and analytic testing, reporting results, and maintaining quality control documentation.

The role requires accuracy, adherence to safety standards, and timely communication of findings. Qualified candidates hold a BS/BA in Medical Technology or Science, NYSED license, and at least 1 year of clinical lab experience; ASCP

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Medical Technology or Science required.
• NYSED License required.
• At least 1 year experience in a Clinical Laboratory, preferred.
• ASCP education program may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for pre-analytic and analytic steps, specimen handling, testing, and reporting.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Adhere to safety, quality control policies, and document all QC activities, calibrations, and maintenance.
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from specifications.
• Conduct routine and specialized diagnostic testing and report results accurately.
• Apply technical skills to facilitate patient care and provide timely results.

Night Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America) Follow laboratory procedures for pre-analytic and analytic procedures (specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting) and maintaining records of test examinations. Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Adhere to the laboratory's safety and quality control policies, and document all quality control activities, instrument and/or procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed. Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications. Conduct routine and specialized diagnostic testing for designated section/sections in the laboratory. Utilize standard and/or specialized techniques, as well as use various types of equipment and instrumentation to complete testing. Be responsible for reporting the results of the tests. Apply technical skills and knowledge to facilitate patient care. Provide timely and accurate results.

Shift: Nights w e/o wknd & Hols 11p-7a

Salary: $68.991- 71.674

Requirement:

• BS/BA in Medical Technology or Science required.
• NYSED License required.
• At least 1 year experience in a Clinical Laboratory, preferred. This may include completion of an ASCP education program.
• Some experience using computers for date entry.
