Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Lab Support Engineer in Austin, TX to maintain Linux and Windows server environments supporting hardware development and testing. The role emphasizes automation, IaC, and high availability across complex labs.

The candidate will deploy, configure, and support lab infrastructure, install and manage server hardware, and collaborate with global teams to improve reliability and efficiency in engineering environments.

Qualifications

• 3-6+ years of Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience supporting Linux and Windows server environments.
• Strong server hardware knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tooling.
• Networking knowledge including VLANs, VPNs, routing, and subnets.
• Experience with rack-mounted equipment and out-of-band management.

Responsibilities

• Support and administer Linux and Windows server environments.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain lab infrastructure for engineering teams.
• Install, rack, troubleshoot, and replace server hardware components.
• Build and improve automation solutions for infrastructure management.
• Manage Infrastructure-as-Code deployments using Ansible or Puppet.
• Develop and maintain documentation and standards for lab ops.
• Monitor lab uptime and ensure high availability across environments.
• Collaborate with global teams, including Bristol engineering groups.
