Job summary

KMRG, LLC is hiring a Scientific Laboratory Support Technician to join our team and provide onsite technical and operational laboratory support to the U.S. FDA’s Arkansas Human and Animal Food Laboratory, located in Jefferson.

You will prepare media and solutions, sterilize glassware, assist with sample preparation, wash glassware, manage waste, and help maintain safety records and adherence to SOPs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of laboratory or similarly structured work experience.
• Ability to follow written procedures, safety protocols, and detailed instructions.
• Basic familiarity with cleaning, sanitizing, or handling laboratory glassware.
• Ability to use simple measuring, monitoring, or recording tools.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required checklists.
• Ability to work independently after required training.
• Ability to communicate problems and unsafe conditions promptly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media, solutions, reagents and standards; adjust pH as directed.
• Load autoclaves and sterilize media and lab containers; maintain records.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of glassware, equipment, and work areas.
• Document safety inspections and quality-control records.
• Handle waste per procedures and report spills promptly.
• Assist with sample preparation and temperature-mapping tasks.
