Job summary

Mercy - Rogers is seeking a Lab Support Technician (LST I) to join the provider care team on a PRN basis. The role emphasizes accurate laboratory support, specimen processing, and timely reporting while maintaining HIPAA compliance and Mercy Service Standards.

The LST I will ensure data accuracy, scheduling support, and professional interactions with internal and external customers as part of the Mercy Rogers Laboratory team.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or enrolled in a healthcare career program.
• No active disciplinary actions or active performance improvement plans.
• Preferred: College-level Chemistry or Biology courses.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support including processing, transport and referrals of specimens and reports.
• Exhibit excellent customer service aligned with Mercy Signature Service with all interactions.
• Adhere to HIPAA confidentiality and lab policies.

This position is responsible for providing accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support. The LST I will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service with all internal and external customer interactions. The LST I is responsible as required for the skillful acquisition of laboratory specimens for testing, utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. The LST I will be responsible for all processing, transport and referral of all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required. In order for the co-worker to achieve the competencies of the LST I position they must be observed by laboratory management or designee and complete all departmental checklists for the LST I position. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
