Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) to join the provider care team. You will support reports, data and scheduling within the laboratory, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and Mercy standards.

The role emphasizes customer service excellence and proper specimen collection procedures in a patient-focused environment. A high school diploma and some phlebotomy or lab experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience.
• The LST II must satisfactorily complete facility competencies to be eligible for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support for reports, data and scheduling.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service in line with Mercy Service Standards.
• Perform specimen collection and processing following safe, accurate, and professional methodologies while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.

This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms. The LST II will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service Standards with all customer interactions. The LST II is responsible for the skillful acquisition of all required types of specimens, As required, for laboratory testing utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. Position Details

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

6 months phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience of successful completion of a clinical training program.

Other

The LST II position must: satisfactorily complete the specific facility competencies, including but not limited to checklist, written examination, management observation, etc., to be eligible for advancement to the next higher job description.
